Job Description

1. Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals
  • Ensure cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, components, and services
  • Forecast material requirements in coordination with production and planning teams

2. Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers/vendors
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure reliability
  • Conduct vendor audits, performance reviews, and negotiations

3. Cost Control & Negotiation

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers
  • Monitor market trends and commodity price fluctuations

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to production
  • Optimize inventory levels to reduce excess and shortages
  • Coordinate with logistics and stores for smooth material flow

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications
  • Work closely with QA and production teams for issue resolution
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

6. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the purchase/procurement team
  • Set performance targets and ensure team efficiency
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
